 I have never seen anything like this before. Is it cabover or bonneted? Is it even a Mercedes? It looks like a left hand drive Scammell with a Mercedes tri-star stuck on it, but probably isn't.

 Something selfmade or made-for-movie, surely no original Mercedes. Even the grille is not typical for Mercedes, only the badge.

 It keeps reminding me of a 1935-7 Leyland Hippo. The front mudguards and headlights look right, and left-hand drive and an opening windscreen would have been quite likely in Greece. (The maintenance standards look about right, too.)

 This should be a Pre WW-II Daimler Mercedes truck. Probably around late 20's to early 30's.The Three Pointed star logo in this truck is the early version and was used before its merger with Benz (to finally become Mercedes Benz).

And since Phaedra (1962) being a Greek movie, then the movie might have been shot in Greece where Vintage and Classis Mercedes Benz trucks are quite often seen in Greece Movies.

 :no: @venkatesh; Sorry, nothing of this truck is orign Mercedes. They never had build trucks like this. And nothing from the visible parts is typical Mercedes, too, even the star-logo seems to be selfmade. And none of the parts are from the early 20ies, everything is newer.

 PHAEDRA.
Leyland Retriever WLW3 6x4 Lorry,World War Two ex-British Military lorry,probably it's original petrol engine has been replaced with a Mercedes-Benz petrol - or more likely - diesel engine.Hence the Mercedes-Benz marque three-pointed star badge on the radiator.
