"1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud Hearse by Wilcox" from Dan's Action Vehicles

Looks like we can merge after deciding if 57 or 58.

It could be either, or both. Chassis ‘57, body ‘58. It took quite a while to create a coachbuilt body of this type.

Similar unit on Silver Cloud II, as advertised by Wilcox & Co.

I can believe that, but registered in April 1957 as a rolling chassis perhaps a DVLA error in computerising the data?

I propose 1958, any takers?

Situation complicated by age related registration, so it’s hard to be sure whether Royce’s would have registered the chassis or taken it to the coachbuilder on a transporter. They might not have accepted it as an entity at the DVLA (or it’s equivalent then), until it was finished, so I probably would go for ‘58. Or, chassis could have been driven on trade plates, in which case ‘57 chassis number, but ‘58 registration.

Listed as 1958 (with the previous '1957 or 1958' discussion clarifying the situation).

Merged entry...

Rolls-Royce I guess?

The other undertaker's van on the left is probably beyond identification, or maybe not.

AnimatronixX wrote I think it's the Wilcox-bodied 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud https://classic-hearsehire.co.uk/rollssc.html

Sunbar wrote The funeral director's van as a guess could be the Bedford CA '403 GPB' seen here in ep.1.02
