Coachwork by Pilato Autotrasformazioni. Probably one of those Lancia Thema gizmos. |

Should be 200 D, W124 and this is a sedan originally so the not a F124. 124.120, by the listing below, is not an F124. Edit: Could it be the Italian coachbuilder ordered the MB, did the coachwork, and then exported it back over to France? Which could explain why the build sheet says it was originally destined for Italy. ^ This is one of many possible scenarios, with the likliest ones IMO being: W124 produced for Italy. Customer buys the sedan, takes it to Pilato in order to have it converted or Pilato buys the sedan or Pilato buys/ receives a pre-owned sedan. Next: hearse conversion by Pilato, either for a customer or "for the shelf" (unusual, but by the size of Pilato Autotrasformazioni and their output, I could imagine them doing that). Hearse is immediately or later sold to France or was already commissioned by a French distributor for a customer in France. On occasion, Italian built hearses (often by Pilato or Intercar) appear in France, because there are dealers who offer these for the French market. |
