Is this a LP 608? To answer that I have to refer to a big book called "Workshop Manager's Manual, Annex to Volume 1, Vehicle Production Programme" (published by Daimler-Benz Aktiengesellschaft) which lists all models for MY 1968. It lists all the cars, then all the trucks, then all the buses, and after that something called "Fahrgestelle" (=chassis with a small part of the front, for those to be easy recognizable as Mercedes). The only one listed looking like this, is called LPO 608 (the O referring to Omnibus (GER for Bus)), hence a bus built on a LP chassis. Those were available with different chassis lengths; 11.4m, 12.4m and 13.9m. I find the 12.4m likely. Answer: This is not a LP 608, but a LPO 608. I don't know who made the coachwork. |
