In Packard vernacular they were called Club Sedans.

Available as an Eight, DeLuxe Eight, Super Eight and Custom Eight

Where they called Club Sedans because the cars were essentially the size of a nightclub?

With that hood ornament it's a Standard or De Luxe Eight. Need to see the side to tell which.

Standard was not part of the model name. Just called Packard Eight. Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com"

We call it Standard Eight here, and I believe it was used internally by Packard as well.

I know you do. However, "Packard Eight" could also be seen as a generic name for any Packard after the Twelve was discontinued, hence it is not used.
The only time Packard Eight on its own is useful for a full ID would be to refer to the 1938 Junior Packard Eight (better known as One-Twenty), which was so named for that year only.
