Is this factory version or built by the coachbuilders |

I'm 99% sure that this body style was not factory. Also, I have seen pictures of a Mercury with the same limo-hardtop style. |

Very impressive; Lehmann-Petersen stretch. They made a few in 65 as well, but found very few buyers and the idea was dropped. |

Anyone have any updates on any of these as surviving vehicles? |

The Mission Impossible LTD doesn't look either like the standard Lehmann-Peterson coachwork, like their Executive Limousine versions of Lincoln Continentals or the AHA(Andy Hotton Associates)version of a '65 Ford LTD(see my photo). All I know is that it wasn't a standard FoMoCo product. |

niladmirari, in answer to your statement that you remember seeing a photo of a Mercury limousine, AHA(Andy Hotton Associates)of Dearborn, MI and also a suburb of Toronto was once mentioned as a builder of Grand Marquis limousines, similar to their LTD limousines of the 1960s. I haven't seen the Grand Marquis version of their limousine, so I'm just passing this imformation along to you with what little I've read on the subject. |

Note the elongated rear doors (as opposed to the standard doors on snakebit's picture) and the large back window - that's no Lehmann-Peterson coachwork. This is a Galaxie 500 LTD, coachbuilt by A.H.A aka. Andy Hotton Associates, who were indeed from Dearborn, Michigan at that time. |
