Maybe a late 1930s 25hp? |

That coachwork looks like Gurney Nutting and, if so, I've seen it on a Derby Bentley which went way above my limit at an auction. That said, it would be a reasonable jump to suggest that the Royce is a 25/30 from 1936 to 1938, as the chassis were not unalike. |

there is a Gurney Nutting 25/30 GOH 6 design that is a coupe with the same truck and spare wheel arrangement, but this looks like a 4 door or a Sedanca de Ville |

The registration number CLC 482 is a London series from about 1936. At that time, Royce's made three model families, all chassis only. Shortest was the Bentley, with the 31/2 litre giving way to the 41/4 on a 10'6" frame, then the R-R 20/25 and 25/30 both on 11'0" frames, using similar engines of 3669cc or 4257cc, and finally the R-R Phantom II and III which were built on a 12'0" frame. Since the main question is "which Royce is this?" we need to obtain some sort of guidance on the size of the car, and the coachwork reference was to do this. The car does not look big enough to be a Phantom, and Gurney Nutting made some Coupe de Ville bodies on the 20/25 according to my reference. Unless an R-R EC member comes up with the engine size we cannot split between 20/25 and 25/30. |

I disagree with the id. CLC482 is chassis #GBJ55, a 1935 20/25 car, (Gurney Nutting sdv is correct) |
