Does catch fire so easy because had the gas cap in the rear end? or just for being a small Ford? |

Cortina Mk1 and Mk2 both had filler cap in panel beside rear number plate, even in US spec - Link to "bringatrailer.com" - but no reputation AFAIK for spontaneous combustion. Perhaps UK Ford petrol tanks were just better built than US but I can't put a pin to why. |
