More than anything else, is the Marea that's unfit to be a police car. European laws makes "nationalism" unsuitable in public procurement tenders, which are also always available in entire Europe. And by the way, Italian police use also BMW, Volkswagen... And Aspen police hadn't used Saab 9000 as patrol cars? -- Last edit: 2014-06-20 17:26:07 |

As I know they tested some types like Fiat Marea and also a Rover somewhere at german police departments in the 90s. But I think that they were not so favorized like the own german cars. It is really conspicuous, that some german states used the cars from companies which are located within. For example Audi and BMW in Bavaria, Volkswagen in Niedersachsen or Opel in Hessen (Hassia). The decision makers should only define brand-special technical details in their public tenders to favorize single brands. The answer: These Marea police cars were provided by Fiat. The picture shows a Marea with a plate from Heilbronn (HN), were Fiat Germany had their HQ until 2007, when they moved to Frankfurt. ![[Image: srmarea.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/3985/srmarea.jpg) |
