These are what often referred to as "Bullnose Mercedes" or "Kurzhauber", used to see them a lot on Saudi Highways back in the 2000s and early-mid 2010s. A local assembly plant for Mercedes-Benz's trucks do exist apparently but i doubt these particular ones were built locally. Sadly, i don't know the exact model name for this particular example but i found some Brochures online... https://www.trucksplanet.com/photo/mercedes/l_heavy/l_heavy_k778.pdf https://www.trucksplanet.com/photo/mercedes/l_heavy/l_heavy_k777.pdf https://www.trucksplanet.com/photo/mercedes/l_heavy/l_heavy_k780.pdf -- Last edit: 2022-12-12 11:24:38 |

They were built by Khawar in Iran (later Iran Khodro Diesel), but I don't know if they were exported from Iran. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_short-bonnet_trucks |

I dunno, some Iranian built vehicles were indeed exported to some GCC countries like the Zamyad Z24 (seen few personally in Bahrain), Paykan (old Kuwaiti ad confirms it) and few IKCO's in Oman but to Saudi Arabia? highly doubt it. -- Last edit: 2022-12-05 21:04:29 |
