Appears to be a Daimler 15 or LQ22 with a hearse body typical of Alpe & Saunders or Abbott.
What a beauty!

There´s a very similar hearse currently being restored for a funeral home in Germany, which was definitely built by Dottridge Brothers of London. I´m almost sure it´s the same car that is shown here. There also was a coverage about this very special car in German Auto Motor & Sport magazine many years ago.

Good research by Animatronixx. The body is so unusual it must surely be by the same makers. If it is indeed 1935 this one had the 3.7 litre straight 8 engine. The 15 was much smaller (only 9ft 1.5in wheelbase- the Straight 8 standard wheelbase was 11ft 10inches). Also, the 15's 2 liter engine would be quite inadequate for hearse use. Even for use as an ordinary limousine the 3.7 liter staight 8 was not powerful enough and Daimler enlarged it to 4.6 liters for 1936.

There is a long story to this..the oval windowed body started life on a horsedrawn and was subsequently (spelt right?)fitted on a hearse everytime they updated their fleet...however at some point they had two as another exists in the UK with a later DE36 style front end...all told 3 different coachbuilders were involved with these conversions.

Update 2021: The hearse used in Danger Man is not the one I showed in the pictures above - that's the other one, as seen below. That means we are lucky enough to have both units on IMCDb. :king:

The whereabouts of the movie car as contributed by stronghold are unknown, the DE36 mentioned above still appears to be in the UK and what EKM 500 (the one in Germany) is up to, will be told on its own page soon.
