Why Toyota? Because Japanese license plates can't be checked and JDM VINs cannot be shown fully, this is reverted to Daihatsu by default. |

Normally I'd agree with you, since Daihatsu is far more common. However, I double-checked the music video and it was showing the Toyota logo in the credits as the sponsor, so I'd say this is the exception to the norm. EDIT: Yep, it's a Toyota product placement... https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000164.000024007.html -- Last edit: 2022-08-01 09:45:39 |

Ah, they chose Toyota as their sponsor, so Toyota would suffice for this one. Thank you. For the context of what we talking about: When introduced in October 2019, the GR Sport variant of the Copen is sold under both Daihatsu and Toyota dealer networks. Well, it's obvious that Gazoo Racing (GR) is Toyota's motorsport and performance brand, and Daihatsu is Toyota's wholly-owned subsidiary, so selling the Copen GR Sport as both Daihatsu and Toyota brands would make sense, while the Robe, XPLAY and Cero variants remains Daihatsu-exclusive. And that, resulted why identifying a Copen GR Sport by make in this site would be a nightmare, as both front and rear automaker badges of this variant will be always the Copen's special oval-shaped "C" logo, while the steering wheel is MOMO-branded with the "MOMO" logo on the center. |
