24 ton means it is a Reiver or Mastiff. Most likely a Reiver. |

Let see if I understand this: A 'RIGID BODY' means it can take payload on the vehicle itself, while an 'ARTICULATED BODY' means one can hitch a trailer Link to "assets.publishing.service.gov.uk" . The Reiver is a 'RIGID BODY', the Clydesdale is 'RIGID' if 16 tons gvw and 'ARTICULATED' if 24 tons gvw, while the Mastiff is 'RIGID' if 24 tons gvw and 'ARTICULATED' if 16 tons gvw. Spot on Zodiac except you have Mastiff weights wrong way round 16ton rigid 24ton articulated. Articulated always bigger gross weights than rigid as trailer axle carries part of the load. Mastiff have a Perkins engine , Reivers have a Leyland engine. -- Last edit: 2022-07-28 09:19:43 |

Mastiff and Reiver rigid 6 wheelers also ran at 24 tons . This is a 6 wheel rigid tipper. It is confusing ! -- Last edit: 2022-07-28 10:56:48 |

Normally found as a Reiver as it has the bright centre grille as used on the "Albion" derived trucks the true Leylands had painted grilles. G-Series Cab - Redesign Grilles are painted on the Bathgate cab. Grilles are brightwork on the Glasgow (Albion nameplates) vehicles. |
