JK221 is said to be manufactured in 1929 by the DVLA register : maybe after the full completion of the body ? |

They also think it’s a 4-litre. However, checking amongst the books I wouldn’t argue about 1929, it’s just that the DVLA is about the least reliable database in the known universe. http://www.vintagebentleys.org/carpages/jk221.php -- Last edit: 2022-07-18 18:49:34 |

Your link also said that is was built in 1929, as the earliest information... But it could be based on the DVLA source too, often unreliable, you're right. What a wonderful car with all its period accessories,it seems really original... |

JK 221 was a 1929 issued number from Eastbourne. |

The registration number is about the last thing you use when trying to date a vintage Bentley. However, in this case it does seem genuine, but it is amazing how well preserved the G-N coachwork is. The car has been a Bentley Drivers Club member at one time, but no details, other than the registration number and the owner’s name were recorded. The lower of the two similar pictures with the printed annotation came from Johnnie Green’s book, “Bentley - Fifty years of the Marque” and appears to mention the original owner. -- Last edit: 2022-07-18 20:18:35 |

@jfs - quick tip - if you list our Bentley models you can cut'n'paste the fraction for 4½ Litre, which avoids creating splinter groups of 4 1/2 Litre. Also applies for 3½ Litre, 4¼ Litre, 6½ Litre and 3/4½ (where for whatever reason, we don't put Litre). |
