Is that "fin" behind the rear side window normal to this wagon?

Dunno about a fin but the wagon is a 1974 AMC Ambassador.

According to my source, AMC made barely more than 7000 Ambassador wagons in 1974, the last year for the Ambassador model.

If you are referring to the chrome "fin" it is a dust deflector that forces air across the rear window to stop dust settling. They are an accessory that were sometimes fitted to wagons and were quite common in the 60's in Australia where we have a lot of dusty outback roads.

That makes sense. Thanks, valiant1962.

1974 was the last production year for the AMC Ambassador. A 1974 AMC Ambassador wagon is especially rare.
