Not sure where the year 1979 came from. But it's indeed a Transtar II CO-4070B. Single axle means it's not a COF. Also, I'm really hoping I'm not scaring any admins here. But literally all Transtar IIs on this site would have their model name end with a B. So all Transtar IIs would be either CO-4070B's or COF-4070B's. Same goes with Transtars but they would be CO-4070A's and COF-4070A's. That means that over 100 need to be changed. ![]() I don't think anybody on here has the patience to change all of these simply to add one letter to the end of each model name. Just pointing this out. ![]() |

You don’t scare me, at all. I am delighted to admit to knowing absolutely nothing about this. It’s too modern and too American. |

Antp can do this on the forum. You can ask him if you so choose. More than likely we didn't have an admin expert pertaining to big rigs such as this. Elmer, who has been absent for two years, was somewhat of our admins expert for larger heavier duty models. Feel free to make a list (possibly on a word doc) and then compile it for antp to change and we can. If it has to be done manually it can be done but before hand we have to confirm the change. That is a lot of work ![]() |

So to be sure, it is just replacing CO-4070 by CO-4070 B and COF-4070 by COF-4070 B for all Transtar II ? /search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=International+Harvester&model=Transtar+II And A for the Transtar "not II" ? That is quite easy to do directly in the database for me -- Last edit: 2022-11-16 09:55:42 |

Sorry for the late reply antp, I can't believe I went almost 2 months without replying. But you are correct. Transtar COF-4070 and Transtar CO-4070 would become Transtar COF-4070 A and Transtar CO-4070 A. For Transtar II COF-4070 and Transtar II CO-4070, they would become Transtar II COF-4070 B and Transtar II CO-4070 B. Every thing stays the same, except Transtar's have the letter "A" as a suffix, and Transtar II's have a letter "B" as the suffix. |
