Hotchkiss for sure, but I think a 686, the 864 is an old style "conduite interieur avec malle". |

Sorry, I should have added "S 49": I thought of the post-war model, similar to its 686 sibling, but a few inches shorter and fitted with a four-cylinder engine. Nevertheless, you may be right - mine was just a guess. -- Last edit: 2008-03-01 17:17:34 |

By the rounded overriders I'd say this is a post-war model. Also the small lights under the headlights idicate the 1949/1950 version and the foglights became standard for 1950. The 4-door saloons were called Artois. Difficult to see wether this is a 4-cylinder [864-S.49] or 6-cylinder [686-S.49]... |

Note that the last digit of the département number on the number plate has been blacked out to make the plate look like one for the older system: http://plaque.free.fr/eur/f/_HISTOR/_PASS_1928-1950/ I think the same trick was used on the Citroen too: /vehicle_338983-Citroen-C6-1930.html |
