Either a 1968 or 1969...I don't think it's possible to tell without seeing the grille or taillights. |

Turning signal/parking lamp position at the bumper and smaller federally mandated side marker do indicates 1969 model year. |

Really? Below is a 1968, and it has turn signals/parking lights in the bumper, and side markers. EDIT: Eh, sorry, just saw the "smaller" part before "side marker." It does indeed appear to be a 1969 model Chevelle. http://www.dragtimes.com/images/7323-1968-Chevrolet-Chevelle.jpg -- Last edit: 2008-03-01 18:58:49 (antp) |

It has a split grille. No Chevelle had one. I think it's a Canadian model. Sold by Pontiac in 1968/69. Don't recall the model name . I think this is the same car from the rear. /vehicle_158941-Chevrolet-Chevelle-1967.html -- Last edit: 2008-03-02 06:46:03 |

Did some research and found some pics of a 1969 Pontiac Beaumont http://www.cardomain.com/ride/771114 |

Filming locations: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, so it is likely to be one. But what is the true name of the car, somewhere it is Pontiac Beaumont, somewhere it is just Beaumont, as brand? |

Just as Beaumont it seems (cf comments on the other Beaumont page and on Wikipedia) |

Antp and car_nerd, you are right it is Canadian made Pontiac Beaumont. The grille design is different from 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle series. I think it the same vehicle as /vehicle_158941-Chevrolet-Chevelle-1967.html . That taillight design threw me off. Opinions? |

The Beaumont was sold by the Pontiac/Buick dealers, it had emblems very similar to those on Pontiacs as well as some Pontiac trim but it wasn't officially a Pontiac. However, most people here refer to these as Pontiac Beaumonts. While the full size canadian Pontiacs were Chevrolets with Pontiac body panels and interiors, the Beaumonts shared more exterior parts with the Chevelle than they did with the american Pontiac LeMans. The Beaumont and the LeMans had the same dashboard, it looked like a Pontiac inside. |
