'Pony Mécanique' is the direct translation of 'Mechanical Horse', the name Scammell used for it's first three-wheeled artic tractors. FAR obtained a licence from Scammell and produced the Pony Mécanique from 1937 to 1970. Here we see a design from the late 1950s or early 1960s. |

'Cheval Mécanique' is just a nick-name for FAR productions. This one is the CM 62 produced with this Pelpel cabin since 1953. The 'poney mécanique' (not pony, which is not french word) is the nickname of a smaller type (CM22) with a very different cabin. Note that there is another model of it on the site /vehicle_50650-FAR-CM-62-1954.html |

Thanks, Jean-Marc, now this one is complete! ![]() You know about my limited understanding of the French language ... I just put two and two together with similar sounding words in English or Latin ... and sometimes this makes 5, not 4 ! ![]() |
