Why don't you just use the most direct site, the DVLA?

I use DVLA, but half the time DVLA only lists the make and omits the model, which is why I prefer Rapid Car Check, if not use both at once.

I did a search on the registration number and came up with this https://www.flickr.com/photos/x10lynxman/22065762778/ .
Apparently it's a 2009 Scania N 230 UD Omnicity.

So, who built the coachwork?

You are congratulating yourselves on doing half the job only.

The other bus is listed as an Alexander Dennis Enviro 20D bodied by themselves.

That question is rather complicated, and can be answered in two versions, either a short or a slightly longer one.

The short one is that I'd like "Omnicity" to be included in the description. That is the name of the body.

The slightly longer one is that there used to be either manufacturers of chassis or manufacturers of bodies, where the latter made bodies to whoever asked for one. Nowadays body makers have been bought by the chassis manufacturers, or established other sites wherever it is most cheap to make them.
In Sweden Scania bought the independent SKV (= Svenska Karosseriverkstäderna https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svenska_Karosseriverkst%C3%A4derna_AB ) (Katrineholm) in 1968 (until 2004) and because of that Volvo bought Säffle https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A4ffle_Karosserifabrik in the late 70's (until 2013).
For a while Scania owned DAB in Silkeborg, Denmark (1995 - 2002), but decided to transfer some of the production to Slupsk in Poland because of lower cost and from 2004 much of the bus manufacture is made there. I don't know to what extent in per cent.

The Omnicity was made in three sites, Katrineholm, Silkeborg and Slupsk.
As the Omnicity above was made in 2009, only one site remained; Slupsk.

I think that much the same has occurred here. It is interesting that Leyland built its own coachwork until the 1950s and then decided to cease.

We have one listed as an OmniCity:

I know that the Leyland National was assembled in Workington.
Was that an existing coach building plant or did Leyland build a new factory with no such roots?

You can read the history here,

http://www.madeinpreston.co.uk/Road/leylandinfo.html

Workington was a new factory for the National.
