This appears to be a 4100, 1.5 ton, 1951-1953. |

A platform from the 1947-55 Advance-Design truck line for sure. If a heavy-duty 1½-ton 4100, then not a "Class: Cars, Pick-up", as there is no "heavier" pickup above the 1-ton 3800 one for this truck line. In any case, this truck is a platform, not a pickup: factory made pickups have steel sides, not wooden ones. And this sides are too small to be the ones of a stake. Depending on the next developments, this truck should have a "Trucks, Simple truck" class or a "Cars, Chassis Cab" one. But what is visible don't really give a lot of details about it. • 1951+ vent window? I would like to say yes, but in my eyes the picture is too blurry to affirm it; • Medium-duty 3600 (¾-ton) / 3800 model or heavy-duty 4100 / 6100 (2-ton) one? As the last three share the same 137"/3.48 m wheelbase, the most visible differences are the hood, the bumper and the wheel rims. It seems to be the "flat" hood and the bumper of the heavy-duty models, but once more, I wouldn't bet anything on it. If a heavy-duty platform, it's impossible to say a 4100 one over other possibilities: except for the payload, 4100 models are absolutely the same as 6100 ones (and the same is true when comparing 4400 trucks to 6400 ones). ⇒ 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design Platform? -- Last edit: 2015-02-07 02:18:18 |
