The Madrid license plate indicates that it was registered this year, so can we say that it is a 1954 Austin Princess? |

Reasons for identifying it as an Austin Princess: - 1. Grille design with central bar, and apparently painted surround. 2. Ghostly, but visible two-piece windscreen. 3. Shape of rear windscreen as seen, (just) in main picture, and better in thumbs 2 and 3. 4. Headlamps in wings, not freestanding P100s probably eliminating Sheerline. 5. Shape of coachwork in general as in thumbs. The cars were still Austins until 1957. As the images are so poor, I cannot say if it is a Mk II, 1950 to 1953, or a Mk III, 1953 to 1956, but the tendency would be to suggest the earlier car as no bullet side lamps are visible, and the grille seems to favour the earlier design. The 1954 registration plate could be due to long delivery of a LHD car from Longbridge. Don’t ask me if it’s a long wheelbase version, I don’t know. -- Last edit: 2021-10-26 20:09:46 |

Agree Mk2 - lower wing flourish in 2nd thumb than higher position where it reaches door on Mk3. |
