 Here you can see the Potomac River, the forested Roosevelt Island, and the dense urban neighborhood of Rosslyn in Arlington, Virginia (including the office building where my dad used to work (it appears black with white edges, and one of the edges is directly above the Civic's left headlight)).

 That whole are has changed alot. Last time I was up in VA I tried to find where my old preschool was (between the new Arlington County Govt building and Rt. 50). I got lost because that whole area is now huge condo buildings. My favorite story growing up there was riding my bike in what used to be a Metro stop parking lot...now it's Pentagon City mall. :) CougarTim, when and how long did you live there? I was born in Arl Hospital back in '74. Before I moved to NC a 4-5 years ago I used to ride the bike trail from LBJ into Georgetown and then back into Old Town, Alexandria and then back. Beautiful park areas.

 I grew up in and live in Falls Church, but I go to school at UVA in Charlottesville. My dad still works in Arlington, but they moved to a different building a few years back. His new building is near the Arlington County courthouse, and the views aren't nearly as good (you can hardly see the Potomac at all).

The building where he used to work is probably going to be demolished soon and replaced by a newer, larger building, which is what has happened to several of the buildings you can see in the main picture.
