1984 Mercury Topaz L. It would either have the 2.3L 140c.i. OHV High Swirl Combustion I-4 (rated at 90HP/125lb-ft. of torque) or optional (and rare) 2.0L I4 diesel. The 2.3L models were good for a 0-60MPH time of just over thirteen seconds according to Car and Driver's road test of them in their March 1983 issue. There were just over 95,000 Topaz Sedan's sold for the 1984 model year. |
