Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) uses Hyundai Sonatas as their patrol units in South Korea alongside the Elantra, they have been used that model for many years in different generations. This one however, as already mentioned by ReeceTheFan, this scene was filmed in Berlin, Germany via a studio backlot (see Gag Halfrunt's comment above), meaning it's just a fictional cop car. It's most likely due to the filming crew have a limited number of Ford Crown Victoria's imported from the US, and finding a Crown Vic that was already imported to Europe before rather than importing another Crown Vic from stateside wasn't easy as you think, that's why an existing Euro-spec sedan that looks like a Crown Vic is opted and this Sonata was chosen instead. Films like this always tends to do this based on their budget, example of this kind of option was from the 2006 movie, Superman Returns, as most of the scenes in that film were filmed in Australia. Back then, Warner Bros. also have a limited number of Ford Crown Victoria's imported from the Stateside to the Land Down Under for filming use, as replacements, a few Australian Ford Falcons were used, all were converted to LHD and modified to look like Crown Vics. -- Last edit: 2022-04-24 07:50:36 |
