Renault 12 TN Break (in France). Is this scene in Great Britain? Then it's a UK version... how was named the "break" in UK ? -- Last edit: 2005-12-22 12:16:34 |

I don´t know about that (Probably Estate), but the designation TN was only given to the Station Wagon if I´m not mistaken. But I´m no longer sure that it was labeled such on this facelifted version or if they were called L or TL like the sedans? The earlier wagons were TN, that I know for sure but maybe that was skipped later. |

The film is set in the UK. I don't recall ever seeing any TN labeling on any UK Renault's. |

I´ve done some digging in my brochures and it seems like that designation was used for a very short time. I found it in the 1975 brochure, and at the same time the 12 with automatic gearbox was called 12 TR. In the vehicles registry there are TN:s of modelyear 1975 and 1976, and TR:s of 1974 and 1975. In the 1976 and 1977 brochure there are pictures of wagons with the TL label. |

oK...I'll do my own enquirie with some documents next weeks, maybe I 'll be able to complete what you've find ...but what about the bodytype designation?...we should name it Estate, as it is a "british R12"? -- Last edit: 2005-12-23 01:43:10 |

Estate first arrived in UK Aug 72 - no trim letters applied. Became TN Aug 74 but no other changes, then TL with Oct 75 facelift. |
