 It´s the same thing like with the Volvo Hearse and the Volvo Ambulance: They were sold over the Volvo dealers network as original Volvos, but extended and bodied by Nilsson.

in the newst "Oldtimer Markt"-magazine I've found an advertise, which perhaps can be interesting for you (but unfortunately the car is not cheap):
"Volvo Typ 265 B3, 1982, 95879 km, ambulance of the government of the GDR, 8500 €"

I've no idea about the coachbuilder, probably something Swedish.

 @Ingo: Oh, danke. Nilsson wäre auch hier zu vermuten. Ich halte mich aber doch lieber an die diskret lackierten Sonderfahrzeuge ohne Licht- und Soundeffekte auf dem Dach. ;)

 A propos DDR-Ambulanzen und Bestattungswagen: gab es noch andere Fabrikate außer den Barkas-Umbauten und den Dacia-Einzelstücken?

 Ja, in früheren Jahren gab es schon einige (Framo, Garant, angeblich auch Wolga, wenn sie Pech hatten auch Lada), aber später übernahm im wesentlichen der B 1000. Der Dacia wäre vielleicht ein erfolgreicher Schritt zum respektvolleren Totentransport geworden, aber der kam ja doch ein paar Jahre zu spät... Ambulanzen sind eigentlich gar nicht mein Fachgebiet, da müsste ich erst recherchieren um Aussagen verantworten zu können. Ich denke aber, dass deren Spektrum schon noch weiter gefächert war.
