By the way, Chevrolet or Opel? |

Was it filmed in South America? Then it's Chevrolet. |

Attention: Opel/Chevrolet Astra's first generation came to Brazil imported of Belgium. Chevrolet of Brazil sent the motor 2,0 liters and 116 cv to Belgium and of there the car came to Brazil already mounted with him. In 1996 Brazilian government it increased the import rate and the car was very expensive. The second generation became done in Brazil. |

Why? This not in Brazil? Filmed in Argentina and Mexico. Your opinion makes no sense. |

To clear this up. 1994 models were imported as Opel to Argentina. Brazil was slowly beginning to export to Mercosur so Chevrolet badges were Brazilian sourced (with the body coming from Belgium and the motor produced by GMB). I found a few 1994 models that return Opel Astra on Data.car.ar. Example: https://ar.tixuz.com/gallery/3/14490887 - Opel in RA as a 1994. Link to "ar.tixuz.com" - says Chevrolet but Data.car.ar says Opel. - source: https://www.facebook.com/revigal/posts/1348968875139896/ Odd part is I cannot locate any Chevrolet Astra F in Argentina; only Opels for the F generation. |

Very interesting and nice research job, @dhill_cb7! indeed these are very rare on sale sites, so I couldn't find much about Argentina, also because I didn't search for Opel but only for Chevrolet, since I believed they were only Chevrolet badged |

Thank you See my last sentence. "I cannot locate any but yet we have a 1996 by the plate on our site " so that means that both Opel and Chevrolet were sold in RA for a time. I don't believe they were sold concurrently. Seems only 1994 were Opel and 1995-1996 were Chevrolet but again the waters are murky |

So, it was like in Chile, where the Corsa switched from Opel to Chevrolet branding.. I think that the difference is the 1995 facelift: before were Opel and after Chevrolet Also, Argentina got surely not only the Brazilian-built motor, since we have on the other page a 1.7 turbo diesel one which was european-sourced engine and not sold in BR |

Good eye. I did not see that about the motor. Interesting. I believe you are correct with the face-lift. |
