"Purchased in London by John Frankenheimer (director of 51 films including Grand Prix and Ronin) during a weekend trip to Savile Row while filming The Train in France." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBc2XxDkMuI |

LHD, knobbly over-riders, all-red rear lights (without orange), white sidelights - not a UK spec, even if it was bought in London. Matches a US spec for visual detail. -- Last edit: 2021-07-19 02:07:16 |

Also called a 1963 by some sources. |

So he just walked into Rolls-Royce Park Lane and bought a new Silver Cloud to American specifications off the shelf? |

Well it makes a good story. Maybe RR Park Lane had one as a stock item for eg diplomatic sales or wealthy tourists doing Europe?? |

Doubtful, you might as well go to Malvern Link and try the same trick. Well, maybe not so much of late. |

RR was on on Conduit Street, not Park Lane. Unless previously ordered for delivery they would not have had a LHD Silver Cloud III waiting for a client to pick upin a whim. |
