I would say that this is a 1951 Oldsmobile 88. |

On the left side of the front one can see a remaining piece of the lateral extension of the upper grille bar.These lateral extensions were absent on 1951 and 1952 Oldsmobiles, on which the upper grille bar bended to join the bumper.It is a 1953 Oldsmobile 88 2 door sedan ( 3611) |

I rechecked this one and I think that Big Dave has it right here because I confused with the 1950 standard 88 grille and because of Oldsmobile's palmares in 1952 when they won 20 out of 41 events.Their other successfull year was 1950 , but in 1950 the Oldsmobiles that were raced had the former body shell.So I would go for a 1951 Oldsmobile Rocket Super 88 2 door sedan ( 3611)I cannot read the racing number here ,could be 4 ? |
