Indeed, its "Lariat", usually displayed as apart of the signature pinstripe. The Lariat is one of the high end luxury versions (along with King Ranch and the newly added Platinum) of the F-150. The interior is well-appointed with luxury amenities. Neon, your captures show a number of features this particular truck had. This one was equipped with the available Electronic Shift-On-the-Fly (ESOF) 4-wheel-drive engagement with BorgWarner 2-speed electronic transfer case. Front mounted recovery/tow hooks and off-road skid plates were also available. The F-150’s 4-wheel-drive system was part-time only (no center differential) providing locked, continuous 50/50 torque split to the front & rear wheels every time it was engaged. The transfer case did not allow for rotational speed difference between the front driveshaft and rear primary driveshaft. Because it did not have a center differential to allow for rotational speed difference, the 4-wheel-drive system could not be engaged on pavement. It could only be used off-road. The Ford Expedition (which is heavily based off the F-150) uses a similar 4-wheel-drive system to the F-150, but has a center differential so that its 4-wheel-drive system can be used on pavement, providing all-wheel-drive capability. In the first thumbnail of the second set, we see the leather appointed seats, the rotary knob for the 4-wheel-drive system (three settings: 2WD, 4WD H and 4WD L) located beneath the left center air vent. Under the right center air vent we see the passenger air bag deactivation switch (requires key to activate/deactivate) And for CCF ... ![]() button at the end of the shifter. Tap it once, and the O/D OFF light will illuminate to let you know the 4th gear is now disabled, denying the transmission access to that gear. Tap it again and the O/D OFF light will go off letting you know the 4th gear is enabled, and the transmission will now shift into 4th gear. |

Isn't this a 1998 due to the normal exhaust? |

in Neon's 1st thumbnail it looks like the 1997 one in front of the rear wheel |
