Alpina wheels - could it be one of the "66 officially released by Alpina as the RLE Roadster Limited Edition" (from here)?? |

Wheels is weak.. a much loved 'upgrade' for BMWs, it should at least have the stripes to seriously consider it. 35 of the 66 went to Japan originally. Where is this? |

The Alpina stripes (gold) are very thin and not very obvious in many googled pictures - try this page with at the bottom a green claimed Alpina with no stripes. Which means we're relying here just on the wheels to accept/reject the possibility. |

Too dark to tell (silver was also offered). Experience says people rarely buy the deco-set compared to the wheels, so at least we know there's a good chance cars with one are genuine Alpinas -plus the different spoilers (like the B11) which isn't applicable here. But how many RLE's if any were ordered without stripes? Browsing this https://www.alpina-archive.com/?cat=51 can't say which ones had them in 1990-91 or how many were done/redone later. But certainly less than the 66 would be w/o stripes. Compared to about 8000 Z1's that's rare. I bet rarer than a wheels "upgrade" imo. -- Last edit: 2022-08-19 23:55:03 |
