Yes, it is. For some reason, the plates appear to be incorrect. They should have the M.S.P emblem/insignia on the left. In 1985, for the M.S.P.'s 50th Anniversary, they changed the plates from embossed black-on-yellow to printed black-on-white. In addition, a real M.S.P. plate would not have a Z-prefix (unused). This is about the same time that the M.S.P. switched from a yellow livery to a brown livery. The thumbnails are St. Louis Metropolitan Police Cars. However, these license plates also appear to be incorrect. While they should be white-on-blue, the numbers are too large and wouldn't be six-digits long. I think the cars were still blue, and not white. One thing that always bugs me when I watch this movie, is that the St. Louis Metropolitan Police respond to Dolarhyde's house all the way in St. Charles County. First, the S.L.M.P.D. pick up Graham at Lambert Airport (seen in the first thumbnail). While the airport is owned by the City of St. Louis, it located outside the City in St. Louis County. It is patrolled by the St. Louis Airport Police Department. An S.L.M.P.D. officer would have to travel half-way across the County to get there. Next, they meet at a fictional "Hock Road." The name may come from St. Charles Rock Road, which is known as "The Rock Road." Then, they travel west on I-70 across the Missouri River into St. Charles County. The police cars are seen travelling on I-70 past the MO Route 94 (First Capitol/Weldon Spring) exit. -- Last edit: 2012-02-11 21:12:29 |
