Just possible to see part of the horizontal bar through a common Austin, Morris etc. grille opening, after 1967 onwards by round (not rectangular) sidelights. Impossible to say if the larger BMC or Leyland would be seen through the rain, but unless the truck is seen elsewhere in the movie I suggest Austin S200 [FG]. |

We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided AUSTIN OTHER 1962 Registration number: 452 PRL Body type: Dropside Lorry Colour: Grey Date of first registration: November 1962 ✗ Untaxed Tax due: 1 August 2020 Cylinder capacity Not available Fuel type PETROL Export marker No Revenue weight 7120 kg Date of last V5C (logbook) issued 7 October 2019 "452 PRL - 1962 Austin FGK80 GPL (Fire Service General Purpose Lorry) Supplied new to Cornwall County Fire Brigade in 1962 as a General Purpose Lorry and Foam Carrier, and based at Camborne (station A4) originally, as a dropside lorry, and later transferred to Falmouth (station A2). It is powered by a 6 cylinder, 4000 c.c. petrol engine, and has a 145" wheelbase. Later in its service, it was fitted with a tail lift. It was sold out of service sometime between October 1975 and July 1976 and stored in Surrey awaiting preservation/restoration. Brought back to Plymouth in 1992, it was given a major overhaul, the cab restored and repainted, and the butt re-timbered. Bought by the present owner in June 1995." - info from here as of 2011.
