Fleetwood or Deville? |

I say DeVille. Fleetwood had heavier rocker trim and chrome molding along the very bottom edge of the front and rear fenders. |

This is a 1982 Sedan Deville. |

At this point in time (early 1980s), was the difference between the Deville and the Fleetwood just trim levels or were they each based on whole different platforms? |

Both were in the same series (6C), and both had identicle deminsions (121.4 inch wheel base, 221 inch length). The Brougham/Fleetwood did have more standard equipment but as far as the body goes I think it was just trim. The Brougham/Fleetwood looked longer because the rocker trim reduced the visual mass of the body sides. It also had a closed in 'limosine style' back window and the coupe had smaller rear quarter windows standard (optional on DeVille). |
