Does it state it's a 1954? Otherwise, it could be a 1953. |

It's a 1953 pre-production Motorama car. Script Corvette appears under the emblem on the front of the car, Script Chevrolet appears under the side trim and there is no side molding running from the front fender to the rear fender. Also, there are air scoops on the fenders (like '56 and '57) and a door lock. Note the hubcap flippers are perpendicular to the Chevy logo; only about 25 sets were sold on the first '53's before the flippers were rotated 90 degrees, parallel to the logo.
