I have done it with my 1972 SAAB 99 by inserting corrugated fiberboard cardboard between radiator and air conditioning radiator many moons ago :)

Back in the 50s you bought a device like a roller blind which fitted in front of the radiator, and could be altered on the move with a piece of cord. These days we have thermostats in the top hose.

just sad that some cars doesn't respect the 6ft distance ... :lol:
