Difficult to suggest a reliable date but looks like black paint mirrors which I think were early 70s (although I've some confusing book photos which might suggest earlier). Bonnet badge looks 70+. |

I believe the Austin and Morris Minivans had black mirrors from their introduction (June 1960?) They appear on the first pictures in the CM Motor Archive. From memory they were basic mirrors with no 'spring-back' function so often useless if accidently hit or vanalised. I don't know if dealers intentionally changed them before sale or recommended the spring-loaded mirrors to the buyer but my '61 had the better Tex? chormed mirrors I think from new. -- Last edit: 2020-11-28 11:34:20 |

Before January 1966, without the safety boss added to external door handles (I expect the same for van as the saloons)? So likely an Austin badge and not Mini. 1960-65 Austin Mini Van? |

Not sure about door handles - no info found - but seems a likely change about 1966 as stated. However I'm still leaning towards 1970s here - grey wheel paint instead of cream (=68+), dark green base colour was available in 1970s, bonnet badge looks white which only fits the 1970s MINI shield, over-riders were standard 1962 during Austin/Morris phases but removed around 1970 with change to Mini branding. |

I was not aware of the over-riders being removed around 1970 with the change to Mini branding, but that confirms your date in my view. |
