No idea what brand was used in Ireland - Austin, Morris or BMC - and no info whether any local truck build, but I think very likely some were built.

^ According to book snippets, Lincoln & Nolan started Austin car build in 1936 and expanded rapidly until WW2 cut off CKD suuplies. Resumed in 1946 with unspecified vans and lorries added, also took on Rover assembly (1948) and Heinkel bubble cars (1956). 1966 merger with Brittain Motors (Morris assemblers - Minor, 1100 etc; spelling as given in the book) to form BLN Motor Company with "a workforce of over 1200, and a range of over 40 products from the Mini to sports cars to luxury saloons and commercial vehicles".

1969 onwards it started to fall apart - some failed attempts at local mergers and resistance from BL (eg one proposal BL objected to was with the local Renault assembler) who eventually withdrew franchise rights in 74. BLN switched to Datsun build, but collapsed in 77.

So a good case for local build, with Austin as the most likely brand.
