The model lasted from 1970 to 1971 when it became the 4.5, and replaced in 1972 by the W116 -- Last edit: 2007-12-16 07:15:25

With the help of a magnifying glass, it's possible to understand that the badge on the left reads SE. About the badge on the right, and although it's not easily readable, the shape of the number on the left looks more 4 than 3. So, I would say this is a 280SE 4.5, a [W108] version introduced in early 1971.
