"Herrmann" was my suspicion at first sight - confirmed! This is actually a 1967 L 408, converted as a one-off by Herrmann Karosseriewerk GmbH of Hamburg-Wandsbek. The final municipal funeral vehicle in Hamburg - from 1972 funeral homes were entrusted with these tasks. I'm not a pronounced fan of that website in terms of accuracy on various occasions, but in this case they support my theory: Link to "bos-fahrzeuge.info" |

That would also be in accordance with the tradition of coachbuilders to prolongate the use of the factory wise Discontinued Model 319 with 408 chassis! |
