I don't know if they omit this field for cars sold in the domestic market, however. In addition to Subaru, Isuzu and Mitsubishi have model year fields, while others (Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, Daihatsu) don't have them - so it apparently depends on the policy of the manufacturer. -- Last edit: 2020-10-26 11:00:01

I'm from the US, so the model year thing might only apply here. Not sure about everywhere else in the world.
