Bristol Lodekka I thought, but not sure.. in fact, as Lodekka had split rear window
Nice Lisbon bus , with LHD of course ...It reminds me british DDecker trolley-bus of San-sebestian (Spain) in the 60's

It seems the Lisbon DDs were AEC Regent IIIs:

Picture in the first link could even be of the same bus, by the registration plate. AEC Regent III.
For the record, the Bristol Lodekka was supplied new only to a limited number of bus companies in the UK; during its production run Bristol was a nationalised company and its buses could only be supplied to state-owned companies. Before 1948 and from the mid 1960s onward Bristols were sold for export as well as in the UK.
Of course there are still many Lodekkas around the world, but these are buses that have been exported after sale by their original owner.

Nice find guys... Indeed the AEC Regent III here seems to be the same than the one at the Lisbon museum , and it's quite amazing, isn't it?
What about the bus in the thumbnail, is it a Lodekka (2nd hand from england?...but maybe not possible in 1964 as the Lodekka were still in exploitation in the british fleets..)

What year could we enter for the AEC?

Quote from aecsouthall.co.uk: '9661[chassis code] (lhd) Regent Mk III DD 1946-57'

Although they look more recent than 1946, you have to remember that Spanish and Portuguese buses didn't suffer from the width restrictions that British-based buses did. I'm not sure how Portuguese registrations work.
BTW *both* thumbnails are AEC Regent IIIs ;) .

Damn, I never noticed the bus in the museum was the same one! [:crazy]

Without doubt it's a 1957 AEC Regent with Weymann body, but I'm not sure it's a III since some sources mention a fleet of 28 rear-entrance Regent V. I hope to be sure about it soon.
Very nice pic of Avenida dos Estados Unidos da América and also Avenida de Roma in Alvalade quarter.

If the bus in the main picture is the one in the Carris museum, it doesn't have a front entrance, unlike the one in the second thumbnail.

Gag, I never said it was ... I just threw in the second thumbnail because it was another Regent III. :)

The one on the 2nd thumbnail is a 1960 AEC Regent V also with Weymann body, but with front entrance and a different front end.
The one in CARRIS museum is 301 ( DD-56-73 ). Actually, here are two links where it appears identified as a Regent V:

Oh ... well, the thumbnails I found identified both as Regent IIIs. And the Lisbon Regent Vs I found on http://aec.fotopic.net/c87585_121.html ... all appear to have the later front. But I've never been to Lisbon, much less at the relevant time, so I for one am not prepared to start a holy war over it ... :wow:

So conclusion? :)

At first, I thought it wasn't CCFL 301 since its last number and the numberplate are a bit blurred. Nevertheless, looking at this list of chassis and reg. numbers it's possible to see it can only be DD-56-73 ( chassis D2LA016 ) while at work - it remained in service until 1981. This list also confirms that it belonged to a fleet of 28 1957 Regent Vs with rear entrance that I mentioned above.

Confirming the bus in the title pic is a Regent V. Good call.

The first left-hand drive Regent Vs for Lisbon delivered in 1957 retained the traditional exposed radiator and so looked very much like a Regent III. The main differences between the two types (chassis frame, springs etc) were hidden from view.
