Very difficult to separate - the only reliable way I know is colour split on 2-tones - Mk3 had A55 Cambridge pattern with vertical divider on rear door, Mk4 had more straightforward upper/lower. One trick between Wolseley 15/60 vs 16/60 (16/60 had wider gap between over-riders - useful frontal clue) doesn't work on Magnettes as Mk4 kept the narrower gap unchanged (so did Riley 4/72 twin over 4/68).

Mk4 had wider tracker and longer wheelbase but body unaffected, so differences never really visible. Numbers made were similar - 16676 (Mk3) vs 14320 (Mk4). All I can say here on this single-tone is there's no vertical chrome divider apparent on rear door, so maybe Mk4 more likely. And in 1981 film a Mk4 survivor would be less unusual than a Mk3.

Or it's a pretend MG made over on a pointy fin ADO9 as jfs suggests here as seems to be shown in that main photo, in which case again a Wolseley 15/60 might have been the victim. And the bumper here is the same as the 15/60 used.
