Anyone know what the Base Car is?

I've seen Reports for a 1970s Dodge Charger, Ford Mustang, and Chevrolet Camaro....all on this Site, as it happens, which also includes more Photos:

https://www.motor1.com/news/426597/batmobile-the-batman-revealed/

But, I've also seen other Reports saying that it could be none of these?

Batman seems to have a thing for Detroit muscle.

I compared the HotWheels version of this new Batmobile and Dom's Charger in F&F 9,and found them identical.Their wheelbase are almost the same, and they are both mid-engined.Plus this Batmobile looks so much like a 68-70 Charger,I wonder if they just bought the prop car from F&F 9 and modified it.

Well, let's look at The History....

So far, he's used:

A Stock-Standard 1939 Cadillac Series 75 Convertible for the 1943 BATMOBILE

A Stock-Standard 1943 Ford Mercury Convertible for the 1949 BATMOBILE

A 1955 Ford Lincoln Futura Concept Car for the 1966 BATMOBILE

Two Chevy Impalas for the 1989/1992 BATOMBILE

Unknown for the 1995 BATMOBILE, but used a Chevrolet 350 ZZ3 high-performance motor

Unknown for the 1997 BATMOBILE, but used a Chevrolet 350 ZZ3 (off-road racing motor)

A Combination of a Lamborghini Mercielago and a HUMMER for the 2005 TUMBLER

A Mercedes Vision Gran Turismo for the 2016 KNIGHTCRAWLER

So....a 1968-1970 Charger would probably be quite an Improvement :-)

Seeing how this car resembles a muscle car, I'm calling this The Dark Knight Rider.

Tour (in French) of one of the four cars that survived: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gV8N-tpfr4
The one in the video is based on a Telsa ! For fast accelerations, but limited to 60mph. With an enlarged Dodge Charger body.
The others are:
- the hero car, without engine, for close-ups and scenes with the actors
- a performance car
- a stunt one, where the driver is on the roof and the actors inside the car

I saw The Batman and my seat was shaking at the sound of the Batmobile's powerful engine. That car is amazing!

A video going over a lot of the Batmobile's details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gC5hhFWe5k

Some other parts I noticed on the car that went on tour in the US are some Fox shock absorbers kinda like these ones: Link to "www.gowesty.com"

And a MoTeC PDM like this hidden under the center console's levers: Link to "www.fischermotorsports.com"

An article at Screen Rant speculates that this Batmobile might be based on a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda.

IMO the car looks like a combination of the front of a Camaro, body of a 68 - 70 Charger, and the inverted tail lights of a 68/69 Roadrunner.

It looks to me to have the back end of late 60s Charger, with the front end of a heavily modified late 60s/early 70s Cuda

ThatVintageCarGuy i think you are onto something when you say it looks to have the front end of a Camaro. For my money i’d say a modern Camaro

The official "behind the scenes"-piece says the cars were ground-up custom made. 3 had an LS3-V8 crate engine, the hero car had an electric drivetrain. The "engine" at the back is completely fake and hooked up to nothing, as are the "fire effects" out the hood.
The cars are four-wheel drive with a custom transfer box so they can be FWD, RWD or AWD by the push of a button. Looks are based around different muscle cars, plus US-cop cars (the "ram bar"-elements at the front), but the body is completely bespoke/custom made. The base of all 4 cars is the roll cage, which everything else bolts to.

One "jump car" had lighter construction/lower weight and special long-travel suspension.

According to Wikipedia, it has the roof of a 1969 Dodge Charger and is powered by a 650HP Chevrolet V8.
