"Jaguar Daimler" comes from the fact that it is just easier to list both brands under the Jaguar name because: 1) most Germans associate Daimler with Mercedes 2) most Daimlers based on Jaguar models are refered to Jaguars by the average person after all

Although my response is quite late, the Daimler name was actually used here. "Jaguar Daimler" comes from the fact that it is just easier to list both brands under the Jaguar name because:
1) most Germans associate Daimler with Mercedes
2) most Daimlers based on Jaguar models are refered to Jaguars by the average person after all
