I think the base of this car is a 1950 Plymouth 2 door Sedan. The shape of it match, the side trimming and the instrument panel. But the bumpers are wrong as well as the rear lights, they seem to come from a 1949 Plymouth Business Coupé.
I´m not absolutely sure, but I don´t think this body was produced for 1949 so maybe these parts have been placed on the car after an accident?

may be the vehicle had been modified? Is the P-19 a chassis number? or a type designation?

Some more searching has come up with this body in the 1949 line as well. So it´s a 1949 Plymouth De Luxe (P-18)
P-18 is the internal reference of the maker.

Ok then we should put this internal ref in the chassis field

I don´t think so. Isn´t that more for cases when the modelname (or number) can´t be figured out. Like on most M-B:s and BMW:s, when at least the body and/or series can be identified.

Here it´s more interesting info for the Plymouth fan, but more or less useless for a "common" viewer.

The car here is a Plymouth P 17 DeLuxe five passenger "fastback" two-door sedan ( also called " turtle-back" model )of 1949 .It was built on the short 111 inches wheelbase chassis .It has the ribbed bumpers of the 1949 Plymouths .These fastbacks were called "two-door sedans ", whereas the longer wheelbase two door notchback models of the P 18 and P 18 DeLuxe series were called " Club Coupes" by the manufacturer. The fastbacks were still built with trim modifications as the P19 in 1950 and as the P22 in 1951-1952 .It appears from the rear view of the car that the owner has added a 1946-1948 "Chrysler" script above the "Plymouth" script on the trunk lid.

Indeed good to have you back :)

I only had poor sources for this one, the internet, it was leading me close but not right.

Notice the tail lights are not the same as most of the Special Deluxe Coupe!
Would like to know how many of these fastbacks were sold in the day and how many are still in existence today?

This is indeed a 1949 Plymouth P-17 Fastback. I have one. The trim, bumpers and tailights are correct. The script at the top of the trunk is not original. Mr. Pilou is absolutely correct.
