Ford D1614 = 16 ton and 140bhp ( Ford 6ltr Turbo diesel ) I bet Lone Barn Farm , Lenham regretted their involvement in this film . -- Last edit: 2020-08-05 10:25:20 |

Badge looks longer. Could it say Custom Cab? |

I'm not sure about the British version Ford trim level/package |

Not sure if Custom or Custom Cab used on these. Custom was 60s/70s UK Fordspeak for a Deluxe-style interior upgrade package - probably things like more and/or better seats, better steering wheel, glovebox, sun visors, ciggie lighter, maybe a radio and/or cassette. Nothing very substantial and no body/mechanical changes. Probably most common on Transits. |

Yes it says Custom Cab. I think you got a few extras in cab. |

Indeed, they do have Custom Cab as this https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ford_N_Koffer-Sattelschlepper.jpg shown. |

I think all the larger D-Series when designations changed to four number gross weight / engine ie D1614 may have had 'Custom Cabs'.The first two numbers were gross weight in tonnes second two referred to engine power. So D1614 was 16te gross with 140bhp engine. Previously they had three number designations ie D900 where the number was payload ie 9 tons. Custom Cab an option on earlier models. -- Last edit: 2020-08-07 11:19:06 |
