I have to state about the P6 series that in the very first year they were still called Taunus 12M and Taunus 17M. At the end of '67 with the adding of the RS versions for both cars and of the 15M XL the Taunus name disappeared as the front script "Taunus". The end of 1968 saw a new frontal smaller Ford script on the left side of the hood instead of a separate letters wide onr (that had deleted the Taunus one the previuous uear) and a new steering wheel. I still call them Taunuses referring to the very first year. A quite similar story happened to the Mk I Cortina (called Consul Cortina in the phase I) and Corsair (called Consul Corsair), . |
