The Ford LTD Crown Victoria next to it is a 1990-1991. |

Even funnier, it looks like the AeroDynic on the 1988-1991 CV is on backwards |

This is a police package Crown Vic? |

For the 1992 model year, both Crown Victoria taxis and police-package cars used the 'P72' VIN number. In 1993, the 'P71' designation was given to police cars while the 'P72' remained with the taxis. Judging by the trim and the dog dish hubcaps, this is definitely a 'P72.' That's why the 1992's are always so much easier to identify. |

Nice. Check the post I just put up. The 'Bullitt' is returning in 2008. |

I was wondering about this. Since we have a lot of [P72] dressed up as taxis, did it make much sense to remove the 1992s from any vin fields assisted with the Crown Vic? I would guess there would only be mainly police cars since taxis were/are usually base models. Just a thought I had. |

I'm not sure I understand your question completely. Are you wondering why we don't label the 1992 models with a VIN? |

Well, yes. This site is pretty good at maintaining correct labels, I was a bit confused in why the 1992s were eliminated from VIN fields. |

A few years ago I decided to just leave the VIN out for the 1992's as it seemed quite unnecessary to have them as probably about 80-85% of all 1992 CV's would have [P72] as the VIN. I mostly began using it on the 1993+ models (and especially the 1998+ models) as a way to distinguish the different trims and packages from each other. Having the VIN info on the 1992's wouldn't serve much use in my opinion and I don't want to input the information simply for the sake of having it. |
